Full description

At 09:00, your driver will meet you at the hotel for a full-day excursion showcasing Morocco’s diverse landscapes. This route takes you through the Ourika, Sidi Fares, and Asni valleys, crosses the striking Kik Plateau, and finishes in the serene expanse of the Agafay Desert just outside the Red City.

Your adventure begins by crossing the Haouz Plain, where arid lands contrast with fertile plots tended by Berber communities. Olive groves, almond trees, and orchards stand out against the dry earth. As you ascend into the Atlas Mountains, the air cools and panoramic views of lush greenery against rugged peaks unfold.

In the Ourika Valley, stone and adobe Berber houses cling to mountain slopes. You will visit a women’s argan oil cooperative to watch the artisanal production process, stop at a local pottery workshop, and sip mint tea in a Berber home. The journey continues toward the Sidi Fares Valley, a quieter, less-traveled area known for apple orchards and traditional villages, offering a close look at rural Berber life.

Before exploring further, join a local family for a home-cooked meal. You can help shape bread the traditional Moroccan way before sitting down to enjoy salads, chicken tagine, vegetarian couscous, and dessert with views of the mountains. Afterward, head to the Asni Valley, where fields meet poppy blooms, then climb the Kik Plateau for sweeping views of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak at 4,167 meters.

Descend past the tranquil reservoir of Lalla Takerkoust toward the rocky, lunar-like terrain of the Agafay Desert. Here, you can take a camel ride across the plains, stroll through the rocky expanse, or simply absorb the quiet, open scenery.

You will arrive back in Marrakech by late afternoon with memories of towering mountains, green valleys, and a quiet desert. This day provides a genuine connection to Berber traditions, local food, and the distinct natural contrasts of the region.

All-in-One Morocco Day

We saw so much in one day — valleys, mountains and the desert. The 4×4 was comfortable, the lunch was tasty, and the guide spoke excellent English. A must-do for first-time visitors
