Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges : Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your Marrakech hotel or Riad around 8:00 AM, setting off on a scenic drive toward the Dades Gorges. Crossing the dramatic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, you will take in breathtaking panoramic views of sweeping valleys and traditional Berber villages tucked into the mountainside. Upon reaching Ouarzazate, renowned as the “Gateway to the Desert,” you will stop to explore the historic Taourirt Kasbah, an impressive earthen fortress showcasing authentic Amazigh architecture. Movie enthusiasts can also opt for a behind-the-scenes visit to Atlas Film Studios, home to the iconic sets of Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones.Continuing along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, you will pass through picturesque desert landscapes before making a stop in Kelaa M’Gouna, famous for its vast rose fields and vibrant annual Rose Festival, where you can stretch your legs and snap photos. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at the breathtaking Dades Gorges and check into a traditional guesthouse hosted by a local Amazigh family. Here, you will experience warm Berber hospitality and enjoy a delicious homemade dinner featuring fresh, local ingredients before turning in for the night.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert : Following a hearty traditional breakfast, you will leave the Dades Gorges behind and journey deeper toward the Sahara. En route, you will marvel at the lush palm groves of the Ziz Valley and pass through charming rural villages that offer a glimpse into local Moroccan life. Upon arriving in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, you will mount your camel for an enchanting 1.5-hour trek across the rolling golden sands, soaking in the serene tranquility of the desert as the sun sets over the horizon.Your destination for the evening is a comfortable desert camp nestled among the dunes. Upon arrival, your local Berber hosts will welcome you with traditional Moroccan mint tea. As night falls, enjoy a classic Moroccan dinner served under a canopy of stars, followed by an energetic campfire session featuring traditional music, drumming, and folklore stories. Conclude your day with a peaceful night’s sleep under the magical Saharan sky.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Erfoud – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez : Wake up early to catch the stunning desert sunrise over the dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Your journey north toward Fez begins with a stop in Erfoud, world-renowned for its ancient fossils and sweet dates, where you can visit a local workshop to see how fossilized limestone is crafted. From there, the drive leads along the dramatic Ziz Gorge and through lush oasis valley views, providing excellent opportunities for photographs.Continuing through the Middle Atlas Mountains, you will stop for lunch in the apple-producing town of Midelt before heading into the ancient cedar forests near Azrou, where you can spot wild Barbary macaques. Your final stop before reaching your destination is Ifrane, often called the “Little Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture and tidy parklands.
